Apart from the curriculum and facilities, how children are cared for at the nursery also plays an important role in the comprehensive development of children during their first six years of life. Therefore, to provide children with an environment with love, respect, and understanding, teachers at Sakura Montessori often:

Regard children as “adults”: Montessori teachers respect children’s interests and abilities, give them the freedom to choose the task they want to work on, allow them to develop at their own pace, and speak up their opinions and feelings. Use various effective means for communication such as “active listening” and “I-statement”. The teacher respects children, share with them, and become a model for grace and courtesy.

Allow children to be the master of their own: Children choose the work according to their interests and ability. While children are focusing on their work, the teacher will step back to observe, take notes, and will only interfere when children are at risk or using materials for the wrong purpose.

Be understanding and affectionate to be children’s companions: From their observations and knowledge of sensitive periods of children, Sakura Montessori teachers get a hold of changes in children’s psychology, health, and needs. Thanks to this, they give children the best care they could, from meals to sleep, and meet five important needs of preschoolers: security, affection, respect and understanding, freedom, independence, and order. The unconditional respect, understanding, and love of teachers at Sakura Montessori are the key to the joyous growth and development of children.
