Based on the Montessori method, the program was developed with all areas in alignment with the method by providing students with prepared settings to explore and experience the environment on their own so that they can effectively achieve their innate potential.
Some highlights of the Bilingual Program at Sakura Montessori:
1. The early childhood education curriculum integrates the International Montessori method
Structured in line with the Montessori method, the curriculum incorporates the areas of Practical Life, Sensorial Work, Mathematics, Language, Science, Art, etc. to promote the method through creating a prepared environment for them to explore on their own, and ultimately, to realize their innate potential.
Sakura Montessori is committed to offering its students an educational setting which accentuates respect, inspires creativity, and nurtures lifelong learning.
2. The Bilingual Program promotes students’ English acquisition abilities during their golden age
The Bilingual Program features a learning environment combining both English and Vietnamese with extensive curricula facilitating each child’s intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth and development, as well as equipping them with essential skills of a global citizen. The Program admits students aged from 15 months to 6 years old.
3. Highly qualified, dedicated, and experienced faculty
The faculty members in charge of the Bilingual Program include:
- Montessori-certified teachers
- Early childhood education teachers
- Native English-speaking teachers
4. The early childhood education curriculum promotes children’s all-round development
a. International-standardized Montessori curriculum
The children participate in Montessori class time conducted by the International Montessori-certified Vietnamese teachers for half a day. Each Montessori session lasts approximately 1.5 hours with five sessions per week for the 0-3 age group, and lasts around 2.5 hours with five sessions per week for the 3-6 age group.
The students study and explore such areas as Practical Life, Sensorial Work, Mathematics, Language, Culture (Science, History, and Geography), and Art. In each area, they make their own choices of activities appropriate to their capabilities and interests in order to actively construct and acquire knowledge through first-hand experiences.

During the other half day, the students participate in English class conducted by the native teachers for 1 hour per session, with three sessions per week (for both the 0-3 and 3-6 age groups). The units are planned in line with the Montessori areas’ themes such as self-care, family, occupations, plants, animals, Tet and spring, water and other natural phenomena, etc. which enrich the students’ vocabulary and promote their ability to respond to and communicate in English.
