Research has shown that the left hemisphere controls linguistic, writing, logical, and analyzing skills. The right hemisphere, on the contrary, is sensitive to images, sounds, imagination, creativity, and emotions. Therefore, the best way to help children learn languages is to “manipulate” both hemispheres to combine images, written language, emotions, and senses.

That explains the cooperation between Sakura Montessori and Mount Vernon School to design an exclusive English program based on the Common Core State Standards in early childhood education with lessons featuring INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES to encourage children to use both hemispheres such as Show & Tell, Mock Interview, Storytelling along with Montessori, movement games, and animated songs. Thanks to this, young children at Sakura Montessori can:

– Enrich their English vocabulary

– Improve natural responding ability

– Improve their confidence in daily communication with native English teachers

– Develop at the same time four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing

  1. Show and Tell: Practice presentation skills and express a creative perspective about the world

2. Mock interview – to prepare children for future interviews for bilingual and international primary schools

3. Enrich vocabulary, practice English pronunciation and accent with Storytelling

4. Stimulate linguistic responses with interactive activities along with movement games such as charades, Simon says, skywriting, acting out songs, and so on.

5. Multisensory learning for language with Montessori lessons
