Cao Thi Sinh is one of the very first teachers of Sakura Montessori Thuy Khue. With all her love, sincerity, understanding, and devotion, she has always been loved by children and trusted by parents.

A young teacher pursuing Montessori education
With an excellent degree in early childhood education from Hanoi National University of Education II, the main concern of Cao Thi Sinh is how to help children establish their personalities from an early age. In her opinion, the teacher must give children a loving environment with respect and trust for them to become independent and active. And so, when working at Sakura Montessori Thuy Khue and getting to know Montessori philosophy, Sinh realized that a teacher of traditional education like her could change herself to accompany, follow, and support children for their success. That’s the reason why Sinh has been engaging herself with Sakura Montessori Thuy Khue since the early days.
With more than 4 years of experience, Sinh never ceases trying and learning to give young children an environment filled with affection. She regularly takes part in professional training for Montessori education for 0-3 and 3-6.
Through these training courses, the young teacher has gained a deep understanding of the development of children as well as Montessori philosophy for daily teaching.

She said, “The knowledge gained from my training has become valuable experiences for me to get ready for my lessons each day, especially for children of 0-3 years old. Because at this stage, children are still developing their skills, but that does not mean that they are not capable of doing anything. Therefore, we adults must be persistent and consistently encourage them, step back to observe them, and only support them when really needed. In this way, we are giving them a chance to express themselves”.
The effort of the young teacher to bring about interesting lessons to 0-3 children
With a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, Sinh comes to realize that the environment is one the most essential factors in educating young children, especially the ones from birth to 3 years of age. Henceforth, she and other adults in the class always make time for observations to thoroughly identify the developmental needs of children and prepare the environment accordingly. The teacher will play the role of a bridge to connect children and the environment, giving presentations then allowing children to freely choose their work based on their interests.
Respecting the interests and abilities of children and encouraging them is what Sinh often does in her class. With her countless effort, devotion, and unconditional affection, Sinh has always been loved by children. There are some students coming back to say hello to and play with her, even though they have transferred to a higher level.
To have such effective lessons, Sinh has been striving in learning and acquire teaching skills. She has taken part in all annual training courses organized by the school for the professional education of teachers. She said, “With knowledge and skills acquired at Sakura Montessori, I’m confident in all that I do, from teaching to welcoming new students, helping them feel secure and adapt to the new environment, develop affection for their peers, and teachers, and a love for learning”.
How Montessori teachers connect and support young children during the pandemic
The first three years of age is the period for the absorbent mind in young children when they absorb everything from the environment. And so, however the situation with the pandemic is, they must still be supported so that they can be able to reach out to their potential during their sensitive periods. Under this light, Sinh always carefully prepares for interactive meetings with children. She patiently listens to their stories, feelings, and daily experiences of children and encourages them to speak their minds. In this way, though they are staying at home due to the pandemic, students still feel connected to their teachers and friends, at the same time maintain their learning routine.
Apart from that, Sinh with other adults in the class regularly sends tutorial videos or instructional photos for more experiences that parents can do with their children at home to overcome this tough time.

After 8 months of social distancing, Sinh, as well as other teachers at Sakura Montessori, would love to send sincere wishes to students and their families, “Upon this coming lunar new year, on behalf of all teachers at Sakura Montessori Thuy Khue, I wish you and your family a new year full of happiness and peace. I hope you will all be healthy, obedient, and never forget our school of Sakura Montessori! I’m more ready than ever to welcome you back to the school once the situation has settled. And then we will be hugging each other again! Happy lunar new year!”
